The Ol' Cowboy

Here is the Ol' Cowboy. The way he'd like us to remember him just before he retired.
He was born in southwest Missouri, 1872. As he grew and things changed, he moved around a bit to do what he loved best, being a cowboy.
His parents came to the United States from Ireland, to find more land and eventually after crossing the Missouri river, moved westward.
His name- Patrick Francis Fitzgerald  - Died 1947
His story is my way of saying, 'Let us not forget our American past.' Those strong men and woman that forged our future and gave us great roots to grow from.
His 12 year old grandson,  who has long since grown up, and is himself ready to retire soon, rides across town to the rest home nearly every day to visit.
I have written the story as it came to me and I strove to write 1 part a week. As time went by the world changed around him and his way of life is all but forgotten to soon.
Thank You - for Reading About a Character Who May Have Lived in the Late 19th/Early 20th Century, Jim.
